Prismacolors and Gamsol featuring Playful Kittens

Happy happy Friday, friends!  We made it!  It's Tara and to celebrate the arrival of the weekend I want to share an adorable friendship card that I created using the Prismacolors and Gamsol coloring technique on the super sweet Playful Kittens stamp set from Gerda Steiner Designs.

I started with a sentiment that stretched all the way across my card so that I could use the line as the "ground" for my cute little kitties.  Be sure to use a waterproof ink when doing this technique since the Gamsol will smudge it otherwise.  I chose Ranger Archival Jet Black ink.

This coloring technique is super easy and always produces really great results!  By putting your color down around the outside of your image and using your blending stumps and Gamsol to blend in to a lighter center you create a really soft, dimensional look.  Tip: To get the old color off of your blending stumps and to sharpen them keep a piece of fine grit sandpaper handy!

To compliment the sweet kittens I chose a feminine patterned paper from Simple Stories and used both sides of the double sided pattern.  I just love the floral on the inside of the card!

Check out the video tutorial for a comprehensive look at how this card came together!  As always, thank you so very much for joining me and I hope you have a fabulous weekend!  See you again soon!  Bye!

Fall fun with the cheerful hedgehogs!

Hey everyone! It's Wiebke here today featuring the cute little Cheerful Hedgehog stamp set!

On this card, I created a soft watercolor background showing some trees and rainy weather - A fall weather look ;) After that, I placed my hedgehog with his umbrella and the little puddle. He seems so happy playing in the cold wet.

For this card, I stamped the little leaves several times on the bottom of my card base. I colored them in with some fall colored ZIG Brushes - that way you'll be able to create kind of an ombré look, blending the colors into each other. After that, I grabbed a light blue Distress Ink for my light blue background. At least, I placed the hedgehogs on the scene.

I hope you liked my little fall inspiration, have a great day!

Guest Design: Puppy Kisses for Christmas

Karen N here from Craftily Yours, and I'm so stoked today to be a guest designer!  Hope you stop by their shop to check out their CuTe stamps??!  They have digital and clear stamps available!  I used the Puppy Kisses for Christmas stamp to create a couple cards.

For this first card, I used the stamp  paired with Kaisercraft Home for Christmas paper.  I embellished the card with some lace, a doily and some pearls.

For this next card, I used a scrap of Dare 2B Artzy paper along with some white paper that I ran through an embossing folder.  I embellished it with a sentiment from Tim Holtz dies, some sequins and silver twine.  I colored in the fur with diamond Stickles.

Copics used for both cards:
Santa Skin:  E000, E00, E11, R20
Santa Suit:  R35, R37, R59, Y26, Y28

Top card:
Santa Shoes/Belt: E35, E37, E39
Pup:  W0, W2, W3
Santa Beard:  C1, C3

Bottom Card:
Santa Shoes/Belt: C1, C3, C5
Pup:  E21, E23, E25
Santa Beard:  W0, W2

Too cute to spook

Hi there,

it's Tanja here and I would like to show you a Halloween Card using two fabulous Gerda Steiner Designs digital stamps:

  • combine the brand new Gerda Steiner Designs Dog dressed as Ghost and the Gerda Steiner Designs Ghost Kitty and color the image with Delta and Touch Twin Brush Markers
  • use patterned paper from the Graphic 45 An Eerie Tale Patterns & Solids 6x6 paper pad to create a grassy ground for the critters to stand on; I used the My Favorite Things Stitched Snowdrifts to get a finished look at the edges
  • use the largest of the Mama Elephant Pop-up Trio dies twice to add dimension behind the dog and the cat
  • add the Memory Box Modern Landscape cut from black cardstock as a background
  • use Neenah Desert Storm Kraft cardstock as a cardbase and ink up the top part with Distress Ink (Dusty Concord, Chipped Sapphire) and a Mini Ink Blending Tool to create a spooky sky
  • add the sentiment with the help of the Marianne Design Eline's Handlettering Script, Versafine (Onyx Black) and a Dymo Label Maker

VIDEO: Christmas Night

Hi!

New face here, I'm Marika and I'm here for a little Guest Design Spot. I've been watching Taras videos for a long time and love the stamps, so was so happy when Gerda asked me if I wanted to do a guest spot. So who am I? Well I'm a 35 yo software designer (aka coder) who's biggest hobby is card making and colouring. I blog over at CraftybitCreations.com and do card making and colouring tutorials over at youtube.com/craftybit. I found card making back in 2009 and haven't looked back.

For todays card I've played with Up On The Housetop, I wanted to make a very wintery card, and started with the background. For the background I used distress inks and and a mask and blended a background with blending tools. It turned out very soft so instead of going to my copics I decided to use my Polychromos to colour the images in. For more details on how you can see the video below.

Polychromos:
Skin: Ivory, Light Flesh, Cinnamon, Walnut, Dark Flesh
Hat & Gloves: Deep Red, Permanent Carmine, Dark Red, Walnut
Beard, trimmings and snow: White, Warm Grey I, II, III
Chimney: Walnut, Venetian Red, Terracotta, Burnt Ochre, Sanguine, Nougat

VIDEO Glittery Snow Angels

Hello everyone!  It's Tara and I hope you are all having an amazing Friday!  I am enjoying a weekend hanging out with my sister so I am all smiles!  The weather here is atrocious!  Lots of storms expected but I love it because it's the perfect excuse to hunker down with a cup of hot tea, my favorite blanket and binge watch Netflix with my sis!

Today I am sharing a super fun winter card featuring the brand new stamp set Snow Angels!  I just love how incredibly clever and unique this set it!  Santa and all his pals just letting loose and playing in the snow.  I love it!

I used a technique that is going to become one of my faves - glitter with a stencil - and put some super sparkly Nuvo Diamond Sheen glitter on top of my snowfall background.  Santa and his friends are colored with Copics and then die cut out using some stitched circle dies.

The pops of red that tie in with the background provide just enough color in this white winter wonderland scene!  These images were so much fun to color and I can't wait to use them on more holiday cards in the future!

Thank you so much for joining me today!  I will see you again soon! Bye!

Ginger Bread Couple

Hey everyone,
it's Maike again and I would love to share a card with you using the new Snow Angel set.

First I stamped and coloured two of the cute ginger bread men, colouring one a little darker than the other. That one was supposed to become the male, so I coloured his accents in a teal colour and the lighter one - the girl - got the red accents ;o) Next I fussy cut them out, which took almost no time at all, and painted their edges black to make it look like I had cut them out perfectly ;o) Now it was time to give the cute couple a place to "sit", so I die cut a rectangle from some patterned paper and die cut a circle from that. I marked down on the card base where the opening was going to be with a pencil and stamped the circle sentiment in place. ("Frohe Weihnachten" is German for "Merry Christmas".)

When I placed the patterned paper over the circle again, the white from the background felt too bright, so I decided to take some "Candied Apple" Distress Ink and sponge some on the inside of the circle. That was a lot better ;o) I used foam tape to glue the paper to the card base, added a red frame around the window to match the colour on the inside and place the ginger bread couple inside. I glued one of them directly to the card, the other one is raised up with foam tape. In order to bring some red to the patterned paper as well I used a red marker to highlight some parts of the Christmas carol and also used the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter pen to add some shimmer to the red frame. Unfortunately it is really hard to see in the pictures though.

I hope you have enjoyed this Christmas card even though it is only October. ;o)
Have a fabulous weekend and happy crafting,
Maike

Sending you lots of Love and Blessings

Hi there!
I'm Anna (al_handmade) and this is my last (*sigh*) post as a guest designer for this fabulous team. This is why I want to greet you all with a funny autumnal project featuring a little friend from “Fall Mice” stamp set.

First I drew a tree with Copic Markers and filled the background with multicolor leaves. I wanted to create a colorful autumn scene full of leaves and pumpkins and, with such a background, the "Fall Mice" stamp set was the perfect choice for building a happy scene.

I stamped the barrow, the mouse and some pumpkins directly on my card panel and colored them with Copics. Since I needed to create some dimensions, I stamped a new barrow and several other pumpkins on copic friendly paper, colored them, cut them and created a multilayered composition to enrich my card.

I chose a warm wish for this joyful scene. I stamped half of the sentiment directly on my card and half on a piece of kraft paper - heatembossing it with some white powder.

As a final touch I added some sequins and grabbed my Wink of Stella Clear Brush to make some pumpkins shine.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this project!
Have a nice weekend!

This is not a goodbye!!

Good afternoon!!

It's Yolanda here from Scraping Time!!!

Definitely, time flies!!! It´s a year since I started colaborating with Gerda Steiner Designs as a Design Team Member. When she offered me the opportunity to be part of her team during these months I thought it was so exciting and now that it has finished, I can say it was!!

And that feeling of being dreaming in the clouds is what I would like to transmit with my last card for her.

For this card I did a bit of masking... and it worthed since I love these cute umbrellas from the new "Cheerful Hedgehog" stamp set.
And of course, I couldn't finish it without a lot of Wink of Stella Clear.

Gerda's stamps are just amazing. It´s very easy to make wonderful and cute cards with them and today I would like to share the cards I have made during these months. I hope you enjoy the journey!!

I would like to say many thanks to Gerda for everything and what can I say to you: thanks a lot for being there during these months! I am so grateful!!!
